Stephen Butler Leacock, bol kanadský ekonóm, spisovateľ, humorista a satirik, klasik kanadskej literatúry, jeden z najznámejších svetových humoristov.

Leacock sa narodil vo Veľkej Británii, ale väčšiu časť svojho života prežil v Kanade.

Pracoval ako profesor ekonómie v Chicagu, neskôr v Montreale.

Je autorom historických monografií o Markovi Twainovi a Charlesovi Dickensovi, ktorí boli jeho literárnymi vzormi. Písal eseje o humore a poviedky, ktoré boli plné irónie, fantázie a zmyslu pre ľudské slabosti.

Od roku 1947 sa v Kanade udeľuje Cena Stephena Leacocka za najlepšiu kanadskú literárnu tvorbu. Wikipedia
