Hlavné témy jeho diel boli spoločenské: radikálny individualizmus, slobodná vôľa, náboženstvo, vzťah medzi fyzickou a emocionálnou láskou a špekulácie o vzťahu rodiny a neortodoxnej spoločnosti.
