Judy Garland, vlastným menom Frances Ethel Gummová bola americká herečka a jazzová speváčka, ktorá dodnes patrí medzi najväčšie hollywoodske legendy všetkých čias.Bola držiteľkou ocenení ako sú Oscar za detskú rolu vo filme, Zlatý Glóbus, ale aj ocenenia Grammy a Tony Award. V roku 1954 bola nominovaná na Oscara z najlepšieho herca za postavu vo filme Zrodila sa hviezda a v roku 1961 za vedľajšiu postavu vo filme Norimberský proces. V roku 1962 ako 39-ročná bola najmladšou herečkou, ktorá dostala Cenu Cecila B. DeMilla za jej celoživotné výsledky vo filmovom priemysle. V roku 1997 bola posmrtne za celoživotné dielo ocenená cenou Grammy a niekoľko jej nahrávok piesní sa dostalo do siene slávy. V roku 1999 ju Americký filmový inštitút dal na zoznam stovky najvýznamnejších ženských herečiek storočia v histórii americkej kinematografie.
