John Galsworthy [Gólzvérzi] bol anglický prozaik a dramatik.

Pochádzal z bohatej rodiny a touto vrstvou sa zaoberal vo svojich dielach. Patril ku kritikom bohatých ľudí. Vyštudoval Oxfordskú univerzitu, odbor námorné právo . Právnickej praxi sa však nikdy nevenoval. Svoju prvú publikáciu From the Four Winds was Galsworthy's publikoval v roku 1897, išlo o zbierku krátkych poviedok. Po štúdiách cestoval niekoľko rokov. Po smrti svojho otca zdedil značný majetok, ktorý mu umožnil byť finančne nezávislý a venovať sa iba literatúre.

V roku 1905 sa oženil s bývalou bratrancovou ženou Adou Nemesis Pearsonovou Cooperovou.

V roku 1932 získal Nobelovu cenu za literatúru. Wikipedia
