Walter Friedrich Schellenberg bol SS-Brigadeführer a generálmajor ríšskej polície . Od roku 1944 bol riaditeľom zjednotených tajných služieb SD a spravodajskej služby Abwehr na úrade bezpečnosti Reichssicherheitshauptamt . V rámci Norimberského procesu ho odsúdili ako vojnového zločinca.
V roku 1951 bol kvôli zlému zdravotnému stavu prepustený. Z Nemecka odišiel do Švajčiarska a neskôr do Verbanie. Zomrel v roku 1952 na rakovinu v Turíne. Predpokladá sa, že Schellenberg bol počas nemeckej okupácie Paríža milencom Coco Chanelovej. Tá po jeho smrti zaplatila trovy za jeho pohreb.
