Peter Ware Higgs je anglický teoretický fyzik známy predovšetkým vďaka práci v časticovej fyzike.
Je autorom teoretického modelu známeho ako Higgsov mechanizmus, vďaka ktorému v roku 1964 predpovedal existenciu častice dnes nazývanej Higgsov bozón
