Pataňdžali bol indický filozof, zakladateľ a systematizátor staroindického filozofického učenia jogy.

Jeho učenie sa zakladá na téze, že duchovný základ každej bytosti je totožný s duchovným základom všetkých bytostí . Inými slovami, číre vedomie indivídua je súčasťou vedomia univerzálneho, kozmického - je ním.

Cieľom výcviku je dosiahnuť stav číreho vedomia, v ktorom človek spozná svoju totožnosť s univerzálnym vedomím. Toto poznanie vedie k nastoleniu šťastia, harmónie a k oslobodeniu sa od nevedomosti . Wikipedia
