Margita Navarrská bola navarrská kráľovná, manželka Henricha II. Navarrského, dcéra vojvodu Karola Angoulêmského a jeho manželky Lujzy Savojskej. Bola tiež sestrou francúzskeho kráľa Františka I. Niekedy ju nazývajú aj Marguerite d´Angoulême,Marguerite d´Alençon, Marguerite de Valois alebo Marguerite de France. Sympatizovala s cirkevnou reformáciou. Patrí medzi výnimočné a zriedkavé zjavy ženských autoriek v renesančnej literatúre. Spolu s Marie de France a Christine de Pisan tvorí významnú a ojedinelú trojicu osobností žien vo francúzskej literatúre v celom stredoveku a ranej renesancii. Wikipedia
