Khaled Hosseini je americko-afganský spisovateľ a lekár. Žije v Spojených štátoch amerických od svojich 15 rokov a je americkým občanom. V roku 2003 debutoval románom Majster šarkanov, ktorý sa stal medzinárodným bestsellerom a predalo sa z neho viac ako 12 miliónov kópií po celom svete.
