V súčasnosti žije s priateľkou v Moskve a pracuje v oblasti IT. Dokumentárny film Citizenfour zobrazuje jeho stretnutie s novinármi a následné zverejnenie dokumentov v médiách a odhalenie identity whistleblowera. Jeho príbeh bol prerozprávaný filmom Snowden, ktorý bol vysielaný v slovenských a českých kinách. Dňa 17. septembra 2019 vydal svoje memoáre Permanent Record. Wikipedia
