Benny Wenda je papuánsky aktivista bojujúci za nezávislosť Západnej Papuy.

Pochádza z kmeňa Lani. Narodil sa v obci Pyramid. Väčšina jeho príbuzných zahynula pri indonézskych bombardovaniach domorodého osadenstva. Pôsobil v Organizácii slobodnej Papuy . Bol odsúdený na dvadsaťpäť rokov väzenia. Po úteku z väzenia v roku 2003 získal politický azyl v Spojenom kráľovstve Veľkej Británie a Severného Írska. Spolu s manželkou založil hudobnú skupinu Lani Singers, ktorej skladby nadväzujú na históriu a kultúru Papuáncov. Wikipedia
