Benjamin Netanjahu je izraelský politik a súčasný izraelský premiér a predseda strany Likud. Ako líder tejto konzervatívnej strany už bol premiérom od júna 1996 do júla 1999.

Dodnes je jediným izraelským ministerským predsedom, ktorý sa narodil po založení štátu. Celkom trikrát zastával post ministra financií a posledné funkčné obdobie v tomto úrade ukončil rezignáciou na protest proti jednostrannému stiahnutiu z Gazy, ktoré obhajoval vtedajší premiér Ariel Šaron. Po odchode Šarona prevzal 20. decembra 2005 vedenie strany. V decembri 2006 sa stal oficiálnym lídrom opozície v Knesete a predsedom strany Likud. V auguste 2007 zvíťazil v primárkach Likudu, keď porazil Mošeho Feiglina. V minulosti zastával rôzne ministerské posty.

Vo voľbách do Knesetu vo februári 2009 sa ním vedená strana Likud umiestnila na druhom mieste s 27 mandátmi. Na rozdiel od predsedkyne víťaznej strany Kadima, Cipi Livniovej, však Netanjahu disponoval podporou väčšiny strán v 120 člennom Knesete, a tak bol nakoniec prezidentom Šimonom Peresom poverený zostaviť koaličnú vládu.
